Siiting and Standing

Ellen says: Jobs that recquire us to sit or stand for long period of time aggravate the problem of veins. You need to get up and move around if you've been sitting. Or, if you have a standing job, take time to get off your feet and put them up for a few minutes. These suggestions may help minimize the symptoms and prevent mild problems from getting worse:

1. Wear support hose, especially if you are pregnant or have a job where you sit or stand a lot.Even if you don't have varicose veins, the hose will improve circulation and reduce aching.

2. Try to raise your legs above hip level to ease discomfort. Lie on your back with your legs straight up and resting against the wall. Hold this position for a couple of minutes to allow the blood to flow out of the swollen leg veins back toward the heart.

Sometime we need to heed the words of Jesus and come away with Him to a quiet place. In His presence, we can find rest not only for our bodies but for our souls as well.
