Kids taste for foods are developed in their early years of life. If you start now to feed them foods that are low in salt and fat, they will learn to enjoy those foods later in life, too. If you give them fruits and raw vegetables as snacks instead of chips and cookies, they are more likely to choose nutritious snacks when they grow up.
Kids also learn by example. If they see you eating right and exercising, they are more likely to do themselves. Find time to take walks together. Go to the park. Be an active family. You teach your children by the lifestyle that you live. Train them don't nag them.
