Kids and TV

Ellen says: If a child goes from watching an hour of television a night to six-plus hours , he may experience a 5-to-7-pounded weight gain. That's just from watching tube alone-that does not take into account the snack food eaten during watching TV watching. While watching TV your child is sedentary, burning many fewer calories than if he was moving about. He or she may also be snacking. possibly on the high fat, sugary substance advertised so often on TV. Along with this metabolic drop you've got a triple whammy that can really place the child at risk for obesity and it's unhealthy consequences. In fact, reasearch suggests that the chance of a child becoming fat jumps 2 percent with every hour per day of TV watched.
