Limit fast food, and don't allow your children to eat infront of the TV. Do away with high fat snack foods. Avoid fried foods as muh as you can, as well as rich desserts. For a treat, remember non fat or low fat yogurt. Teah a lifestyle that will keep your child slim and healthy for life.
If your child is overweight, never tell him he is fat. Let your child know that he is loved and accepted just the way he is. Little hearts and minds are being formed. When the time is right, then he will have the desire and the knowledge to shed the excess weight.
