what matters

Spirituality is about all of these aspects of life: what has touched us, what has formed us, what has made sense to us, what has drawn us, what has repulsed us, what makes no sense to us, etc.

We humans are very simple and completely complex. Spirituality is how we put all of the aspects of our life together in the light of the God whom we seek. For us Christians, it is about how we continue to integrate ourselves as we follow the Lord Jesus, trying to live His teachings and striving to live and love as He did.

Each one of us is unique and yet most of us are called to live together with others as well. The same kind of thinking would touch families: they are not a group of people who just happen to live together. The family is a basic community.

So our spirituality is always at the service of one another and of the communities to which we belong. It is not easy to live in community.

It is easier to live together alone! Yet we are called out of ourselves and in that going out (to God, to one another and even to ourselves) we become who we are and we are invited to become the one God has created us to be.
