The test of friendship

Ellen Says: Friends come and go. When they part ways each becomes focused on other things. They begin to lose communication. Soon they forget each other. They might not even recognize each other when their paths cross after a few years. It is as if the memories of the time they spent together were blown away easily by the wind, thrown into oblivion for everyone to forget. Truly, these situations happen but not between true friends.

As we go along our way of life we meet friends. They laugh and cry with us. We share stories, problems and secrets with each other. They become our companions. They bring color to our lives while influencing us greatly. We confide with them whenever we are down especially when we are at the lowest points of our lives. Friends help us with the decisions we make not by manipulating us but by giving us the best pieces of advice that they can give and reassuring us that no matter what happens, whatever our decisions may be, they have our backs.

Most of the time we go on directions different from what our friends take. We meet some of them along the way and some we don't. At that point in time when we part ways with them, we begin to realize who our true friends really are.

True friends are those whom we confide with. They are those whom we share stories, problems and secrets with. They are those whom we laugh and cry with. and when the time comes when we have to go to different directions, those who misses us are our true friends.

It is hard to find true friends. You might meet a lot of people along your way and consider them as friends but not all of them stay and touch your spirit. Friends come and go but not true friends. They are those who are once a friend always a friend, for the bridge of friendship spans distance, memory, and time. To find true friends we need the test of friendship. It comes not while you are together. This test does not show up at your front door while you are about to go out and see your friends. It comes when you part ways and you realize that despite distance the friendship never ends.
