Celebrate United Nations Day with Children

Ellen says: The United Nations was formed by the victor nations at the conclusion of World War II. The United States participated in formation of the organization and the writing of its ruling charter. That Charter went into effect on Oct. 24,1945 and is the basis for our efforts, as a global community, to live in harmony with one another and to respect the rights and dignity of all.

Each year member countries around the world celebrate United Nations Day on October 24. It is a great time to help your children to learn more about the history, philosophy, members and functions of the United Nations.
