What Love Demands

Ellen says: I now own a laptop. People who have been reading my stuff for a few years know how I live the simple life. I always wanted an uncluttered and free life. I didn't want ringing, beeping, chatting, and vibrating things disturbing my prayer time. And for the sake of humility, I didn't want the status symbol of a cellphone.

So except for my computer where I write journals, for many years I avoided all sorts of personal gadgetry, equipment and other luxuries. But slowly I had to face harsh reality. I realized that there is one law above every other law.. Yup, even above my desire for simplicity,or prayer, or humility. It is called the demand of Love.

What does Love demand in our life?

Disturbing our prayer time because our little son wants us to carry him or to play with him? saying "no" to an abusive friend even if everything about you wants to say yes. For me it is just a simple way of getting a cellphone. I also got myself a boyfriend who is now my husband but then, that's another story.
