I used to ask her," how does it feel to be blind ?" And then she willingly answered me back. " If you close your eyes and see nothing but black and try to sothing (anything) then thats what it's like. You cant tell it someone walks up next to you or your dog or cat walks up to you untill you hear a noise. You can't see the tv, you just mostly listen. It's very scary, but you cope, you learn and you make the best of what you have. I have a wonderfull husband that has helped me so much. I'm sure if you ask your boyfriend about his blindness he will be glad to tell you whatever you want to know. I'ts not a bad subject not to be talked about or anything, as far as I know. Personally even though I want to try to do as much stuff as I can for myself I can always use a little help and its nice to know even if no one can do anything to help that they are just there, even if just to have someone to talk to. You sound like a nice person to try to help. Hang in there, I'm sure he will appreciate your friendship and love. I hope this helped a little."
She even told me about the i am blind .org began as an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) and was featured on ARGN.com, which is where many users found the website initially. The ARG element drove users to interact with each other as well as the game by solving clues together, sending photos, creating videos and sharing information. Currently, the iamblind.org features a gallery of user generated content and a very busy forum open to those less aware of the gaming element.
Bringing together people from all over the globe to experience the themes of the film is crucial to such an innovation piece of entertainment such as Blindness. Blindness is based on the novel of the same name by Nobel Prize Winner, Jose' Saramago. It's the compelling story of humanity in the grip of an epidemic of mysterious milky-white blindness. As the contagion spreads, and panic and paranoia set in across the city, the newly blind victims of the "White Sickness" are rounded up and quarantined within a crumbling, abandoned mental asylum, where all semblance of ordinary life begins to break down. These themes are seemingly mirrored by the website where an online community has developed and must let go of their personal isolation and working together in creative ways.
The film was opened last October 3 in the United States.
