Dom says: I couldn't recall any eyeball which I attended in the past except that of an eyeball with my frat bros and sorority sis in a college fraternity 'Alpha Phi Omega' in which I was a very active member during my college days.
But other than that, I never had any experience meeting with cyberfriends as far as my memory is concerned, and thus, my 'eb' (eyeball which means meet up) with some bloggers last May 9th was a very exciting and a significant one being my first time ever to experience and get the feeling of what an 'eb' is.
Based from a data that I gathered from my 'redbook' , I was to meet blogger friends like Karen of Malaya, Liza of Moms Check Nyo, Wendy of The Maven, Sasha of Sasha says and a blogger who's so popularly called as Tatay in the whole blogosphere.
The meeting place was to take place infront of Max's restaurant inside TRINOMA at 12:00Pm. I arrived ahead from the rest being used to get on time with appointments. Since nobody was approaching me from people and bystanders moving around and about the place, I decided to get inside the restaurant and posed myself as one customer who was to wait for his companions and so, the security guard attended and seated me to a bench fronting the store display of delicacies and pastries. I waited for awhile but got bored and so I thought I should go out of the store as they may have arrived already and may think I might have stood them up.
When I went out and moved around near the vicinity of Max's, I saw two people who were looking at my direction and were about to approach me and indeed they did!
As what I read from my 'redbook', it was my 'ate Liza of 'mom's check nyo', 'a simple life' and 'mommy's little corner' blogs with another blogger known as 'tatay' of the whole blogosphere. They must have arrived at the same time and recognized each other. Formal introduction of each other followed shortly.
Just a few minutes after they arrived, another blogger came and it was a lady whose name I found in my 'redbook' as kapatid na Sasha of 'Sasha says' and of 'my own utopia' blogs. Then just before we moved from the place infront of Max's and look for a restaurant that caters native pinoy foods, two more bloggers came. They were Wendy of 'Maven' and karen of 'Malaya'. The group was complete. We then moved to the real venue of our eyeball!
We tried 'Cabalen' as per my request since I wanted to try native pinoy foods like dinuguan, tilapia na pinaputok, kangkong na pinirito, and many more that I loved to eat.
The conversation brought us to many topics and pleasantries about blogging, pagerank issues, who's who in the blogosphere, and many many more issues that really enlightened me and educated me to the rudiments of personal blogging and monetizing a blog. It was indeed a seminar-workshop-sort-of for me.
After our sumptuous dinner, Wendy and Karen excused themselves and went ahead of us while the rest of us proceeded to 'Starbucks Coffee' at the Cinema level of TRINOMA. The three of us, Ate Liza, Kapatid na Sasha and Tatay of the Blogosphere, stayed for about two more hours exchanging pleasantries about blogging and as well as trivial matters.
My first EB with prominent bloggers in the blogosphere was very enjoyable and truly a remarkable one.
