Dom says: I got my greencard today June 7th....so that's it. After waiting for four long agonizing years,finally I got it.

happy golden wedding anniversary...

Dom says: Last April, one appointment that was listed in my itinerary in Manila was to pay a visit to the parents of my monkbrother Dom Marcus from Quezon City. I did. And I was lucky to have met his mother, which later in our conversation, I fondly called as Mommy Rose.

She is a wife of a retired judge and is currently working as the member of the Board of Directors of a series of hotels in Metro Manila like City State Tower Hotels and Cherry Blossom Hotels.

I arrived at Dom Marcus' residence at around past 12 o'clock in the afternoon. Dom Marcus' dad was not around as he was in his office, so it was me and his mom who did spend time exchanging pleasures.

I learned further in the course of our conversation that mommy Rose and daddy Pete will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in July. So, it was just fitting and proper for me to greet them an advanced golden wedding anniversary!

Dom says: Last May 14th, Brod Aris, my college classmate and frat brod and buddy, invited me to stand as principal sponsor of his youngest son Renzon who received the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Palace of Nueva Caceres, Naga City.

Dom says: Last Sunday May 11th, I was invited by Josh of meandmydoves to join the Liturgical Eucharistic Celebration in celebration with the feast of Our Lady Peace and Good Voyage with his townfolks in Pajo Caloocan which coincides with the day's significance: Pentecost Sunday!

The Pentecostal and Fiesta Eucharistic Celebration started at 8:00Am and ended at almost 9:30AM. Shortly after the celebration, Josh invited me for an early lunch with his family nearby the Mariano Street Chapel where the celebration was held.

I was so moved by his kindness, not to mention his selfless dedication to the Catholic Church, and thoughtfulness when he showed me his doves up the rooftop (5th floor) of their residence!....His doves were tamed, and as a matter of fact, I enjoyed them immensely when I fed them on my palms with corns and nuts that we bought at his favorite (suki) store...

Err, let me go back to the day before my supposed-to-be coming-over to Josh's Church for the Pentecostal celebration (just to give you a background so you won't get lost) and the fiesta celebration as well.

The day was on a Saturday, May 10th, when he agreed to meet me at Starbucks Coffee(Midtown Wing) inside the Robinson's Mall Ermita. The first meeting with a blogger like Josh was significant as I wanted to see for myself the person behind the blog that depicts so much extremes in life.

So, then, the meet-up was successful! He treated me with my favorite cafee latee decaff. Before we parted ways, he gave me the exact location of where I will go for the Mass the next day.

Jumping to the moment when Josh showed me his doves, I was so ecstatic when a multitude of doves just flocked all over me, flying all over me and landing on my stretched arms...God's favorite creatures....the symbol of the Holy Spirit... the chosen creature whom St. Scholastica, twin sister of St. Benedict, chosed when she went up the heavens!.... I was so edified!

banquet galore....

@2:30PM USA Time, Saturday, April 12th, 2008, Dom says: WE just finished with the Buffet banquet in honor of three Vietnamese monks who professed their Solemn Vows in the ceremony that was held and was conducted at the Abbey Church of our monastery this morning at 10:30Am.

The two-hour Solemn Consecration ceremony of the three viet-monks highlighted the celebration of the Holy Eucharist which was presided by the Abbot Superior of my community Rev Abbot Philip Lawrence, OSB and was assisted by me as his Master of Ceremonies.

The long ceremony was followed shortly by a reception banquet for the guests, monks of my community and the nuns of our neighboring community for women, at the refectory in Phase three.

The banquet, as it was a buffet, gave the monks, guests, and nuns a chance to mix themselves together as they enjoyed the food that was cooked and prepared by the Vietnamese nuns of our neighboring community of the Benedictine Nuns of Our lady of The Desert, just a mile away from the monks compound. It also gave us all a chance to TALK while at table as the banquet was declared by the Abbot as a TALKING MEAL.
