Ellen says: Children suffer from stress just as much as adults do, but are often unaware that they're experiencing stress or anxiety. But children do suffer from stress and anxiety which can lead to depression and they can display it in a variety of ways.
As a mother of three children, I have found that many do not realise that stress and anxiety can affect them both within their personal and social life. i am proud of what I know and of my experience -- but I'm not going to boast.
I'm telling you this because one of the most dangerous things you can do is ignore your child's life crisis no matter how small it may seem, when it occurs or how often. Confidence building at any age is a life-tool and can give your child the building blocks of life that can be taken through to adulthood.
Upon noticing a child becoming very quiet and withdrawn which was not her usual behaviour, it appeared that he was being picked upon by other children telling him that he was smelly and nobody would want to be friends with him.
Making him feel that it was the other children and not him at fault. By giving his a buddy it enhanced and built upon his self-confidence over the weeks.
I know the frustration of not knowing where to turn and being saturated with useless information having to sift through it to find one or two relevant points...We wanted the best for our child and to be someone in our child's life.
