Photohunt: a new year's delicious treat

One day just after every new year, I always find time for myself and take a walk at Manila Bay's breakwater along Roxas Blvd. Manila.

This year, I was so very glad that I had a chance to really get myself into strolling at its famous breakwater and also got lucky to talk to strangers and get to know their lives so freely.

Manila Bay's seashore at lowtide in an early morning.

Bystanders at the seashore waiting for the sunrise and for a day's goodluck.

The best time for fathers to take their babies for a stroll and hike.

The best treat I got! Along the breakwater was a mother cuddling her baby with a hairlip. I learned from the mother, who refused to be photographed, that her baby's hairlip surgery is scheduled a week from now at Philippine General Hospital under the help of a sponsoring non-profit organization.

My heart went to the baby and to her mother so I gave the mother a five hundred peso bill (500.00Php equivalent to $11.50) for her miscellaneous expenses. She refused to accept it as she was so embarassed but I insisted by telling her a joke that I am not running for any mayoralty or senatorial post on the next Philippine elections. She finally accepted the bill with tears on her eyes. I was teary eyed, too, because I suddenly felt a strange feeling which I just could not explain right away but I knew that it was a delicious feeling!
